Out On A Limb

We are very excited here in the office because this month all roads lead to National Tree Day! It’s the biggest day on our calendar. It’s like an annual birthday celebration for trees.

National Tree Day was co-founded in 1996 and has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature protection event. This day is a call to action for everyone to head out into our amazingly unique landscape and plant trees.

We’d love you to come tree planting with us on Sunday 1 August 2021 at Narmbool, Elaine VIC.
More information and link to tickets below.

YES I WANT TO COME TREE PLANTING WITH YOU!

If Elaine is too far from the hearth, here’s the link to Planet Ark’s tree planting sites, there is sure to be one near you.

National Tree Day is a day to engage in environmental activities that educate individuals about the world around them. It’s a day to venture outdoors and get to know your community, and most importantly, to have fun!

And of course, if you can’t physically get out to plant trees, consider purchasing some trees from our website and let us plant on your behalf. We would be honoured. And promise to take lots of photos for you!

PLEASE PLANT SOME TREES FOR ME
From the depths of winter, have a great July.

Big love – Colleen

What we are watching/reading/doing

A life on Our Planet
with Sir David Attenborough
On Netflix
It is David’s witness statement and his vision for the future.
“Planet is headed for disaster. We need to learn how to work with nature, rather than against it. And I’m going to tell you how’. Sir David Attenborough (94 yo).
This beautiful documentary (1 hour/33 min) is full of amazing images and stories that we have come to love from David. It is sobering and uplifting. Heartbreaking and inspiring.

Collectively we CAN make a difference

In the face of global challenges like climate change it can be so easy to feel overwhelmed. What difference can I make, me, one tiny person? But the thing is – it’s not just you. It’s me too. And her. And him, and them over there, and their friends, and the bus driver, and the salesperson, and old mate down the street, and on and on. It’s us.
36 individuals collectively enabled us to plant 630 trees across 3 sites in Tasmania

Thinking of becoming a Friend of Fifteen Trees with a purchase of 60 trees? Now is a great time, as we are actively looking for sites for your trees and community groups have begun planning. The trees are all native, if not indigenous to the district in which they are planted. Sixty trees will collect your carbon footprint for 12 months. Become a friend of Fifteen Trees and from there … the planet!

Until next time dear friends,

Big Love from Colleen & team XO
