Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) In 2023, through our partnership with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, we matched 3,768 RECs, contributing to the development of renewable energy projects. These projects deliver clean energy to the North American power grid, effectively reducing carbon emissions. Each REC purchased is sourced from 100% new, renewable resources and is Green-e® Energy Certified. To put this into context, here are a few equivalent examples: Powering approximately 358 households for a year Driving over 11,000,000 miles in Electric Vehicles Offsetting the Carbon Sequestered by about 78,500 trees annually. Tree Planting Initiative For every hosting account activated, we plant one tree in collaboration with One Tree Planted. This initiative not only supports reforestation but also helps in the rehabilitation of ecosystems around the world. EPA Green Power Partner GreenGeeks has been recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Green Power Partner. This acknowledgment underlines our commitment to supporting environmental sustainability through the use of renewable resources. Sustainable Workforce Our commitment to sustainability extends to our workforce. By adopting a 100% remote working model, we’ve significantly reduced emissions related to daily commutes and office operations. Eco-friendly Hosting Platform Our selection of pro-sustainable partners ensures that our data centers and infrastructure are optimized for maximum efficiency. This careful optimization helps minimize our environmental impact while maintaining high-performance web hosting services.
