In this 2-minute video, Sally Fisher explains about the Real Deal project, which seeks “to avoid the worst impacts of the climate crisis and ensure that every person has the opportunity to determine their best life.”
The Real Deal is an alliance of unions, faith groups and community organisations who have been meeting regularly to discuss how to win a Real Deal for Geelong to ensure no-one is left behind in the transition. Join us to share your story and act for change with other Geelong residents.

Would you like to organise a listening session at your house here in February? – or would anyone be keen and available to meet in East Geelong on Sunday the 19th of February at 2:00 to 3:30pm to contribute with thoughts and ideas?
We’ll be meeting at a neighbour’s house, and there will be coffee, tea and a spectacular banana cake. 🙂 Contact Mik directly if you would like to come – on mikaidt@climatesafety.info
If you would like to help, you can assist with distributing printed Real Deal promotional postcards, posters and fliers to Community Centres and cafes around Geelong. Contact Sal Fisher about how to collect them.
On Facebook, you can help share the film from the Geelong Sustainability Facebook page.
Also consider personally calling people you would like to invite to a session.

Collection of 350 stories before February
“We expect to have more than 350 stories to gather before the end of February 2023,” said Community Organiser Sally Fisher from Real Deal Geelong.
The Wesley Uniting Church has begun well and had 100% of registrations attend their table talks – and even found it hard to contain the talk once people got started.
ACF Geelong has held two successful table talks so far and identified two new leaders already as a result, one of whom has taken the initiative to talk with others in the community – a great response for organisations seeking to grow capacity and leadership.
How are you and your organisation going to participate?
